The Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing (BAM) is a scientific and technical higher federal authority based in Berlin. As a departmental research institution of the Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection, we research, test and advise on the protection of people, the environment and material goods. Our activities in materials science, materials engineering and chemistry focus on the technical safety of products and processes. Become part of our team of dedicated employees! Your tasks: Using your specialist knowledge to take responsibility for and shape all matters relating to information security at BAM and to represent BAM in the federal administration’s IT security committees. They actively and independently advise the management level and the IT department on all information security issues and regularly report on the status of IT security at BAM You review BAM’s IT security concept based on the IT baseline protection of the Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) and develop it further, taking into account the special and often complex requirements from scientific and administrative areas You will develop an organizational structure and processes for information security and support the IT department in the implementation of IT security measures You develop protection goals, adapt them on an ongoing basis and identify risks to IT security through independent audits and work towards minimizing them You are responsible for risk and emergency management in the area of IT security and ensure the appropriate reporting channels You identify security gaps and are the point of contact for dealing with IT security incidents You support IT projects in administration and science with a view to IT security You carry out awareness-raising and training measures on the topic of information security and ensure organization-wide awareness of the importance of IT security and the associated regulations You cooperate with the information security authorities and institutions at federal level and represent BAM in IT security committees Your qualifications: Successfully completed scientific university studies (diploma/master’s degree) preferably in the field of computer science, electrical engineering, communications engineering, physics, mathematics or proven equivalent skills and experience Several years of professional experience in the IT environment and in the development of concepts and guidelines (e.g. network, IT security, backup, crypto concept; IT user/administration guidelines) Comprehensive knowledge and experience of key IT system technologies as well as services, protocols and structures of the internet Comprehensive knowledge and experience with regard to the creation of IT security concepts and risk analyses based on BSI standards 200-1, 200-2 and 200-3 or according to BSI IT-Grundschutz as well as relevant experience with regard to the assessment of threat situations Experience in the coordination of IT security processes and in analysis and systemic planning Management and operation of complex IT security structures Ideally knowledge of the working methods and culture of research institutions and their specific IT requirements for scientific operations Confident and communicative demeanor with a strong ability to work confidently with various internal and external stakeholders Good communication and information behavior, goal-oriented and structured way of working, ability to work in a team and willingness to cooperate, willingness to learn as well as conceptual, strategic and innovative thinking skills Our services: Interdisciplinary research at the interface between politics, business and society Work in national and international networks with universities, research institutions and industrial companies Excellent equipment and infrastructure Flexible working hours, mobile working Your application: We look forward to receiving your application via our application management system by 12.04.2024.
