IT Network Administrator (m/f/d) Federal Institute for Vaccines and Biomedicines Federal Institute for Vaccines and Biomedicines For our Unit Z5 “Information Technology”, we are looking for the earliest possible date for a IT network administrator (m/f/d) We, the Paul-Ehrlich-Institut, are a federal scientific institution that is responsible for the testing and approval of vaccines and biomedical drugs and conducts research in the field of life sciences. Networking with national and international stakeholders makes us a competent point of contact for the public, science, medicine, politics and industry. Your tasks Operation, adaptation and further development of the internal Ethernet network Administration, configuration and monitoring of network transitions and external communication relationships (firewalls, external e-mail servers, De-Mail gateway) Installation, administration and maintenance of central IT systems (databases under Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server, UNIX/Linux systems, web and application servers, e.g. Apache httpd, Apache Tomcat, Wildfly) Monitoring of internal and external systems and services using the “Icinga” monitoring software Diagnosis and rectification of network and application problems Support in the implementation and further development of IT security concepts Administration, maintenance & care of cross-sectional IT applications User support (2nd/3rd level support) Our requirements Completed vocational training as an IT specialist (m/f/d) for system integration, bachelor’s degree in computer science or business informatics or comparable relevant vocational training in the IT sector Several years of professional experience of at least 3 years in the field of IT infrastructure is required Knowledge and experience in one or more of the following areas: Network technologies, network administration and network architectures Configuration and operation of firewalls Administration, operation and further development of Linux (e.g. RedHat, SUSE) and Windows server landscapes Administration of databases under Oracle and/or Microsoft SQL Server Knowledge in the field of IT security, in particular IT baseline protection according to BSI standard desirable Process-oriented approach, independent and diligent way of working Very good knowledge of German (at least C1 level), good knowledge of English (at least B1 level) desirable Our offer is a versatile and challenging job centrally located in the Rhine-Main area with good connections to the public transport network (highway, airport, S-Bahn).
